CAS Week 2018

Renaissance College

Here is our second video.

Now that we’ve all gotten the hang of jewellery making, we were all our lovely independent selves. Channeling our muse and thirst for challenge into magnificent pieces of jewellery that would let us dab on the haters, we all got comfortable using fire to solder metals together and used machines to help us polish and make our work lit. It was inspiring to see everyone yeet pieces of their identity, hidden or otherwise, into their jewellery pieces. It formed a sisterhood like no other, one that we were dreading having to continue through text messages and random bumps in the corridor. Jewellery aside, we also became closer through our mistakes and inside jokes – this might be the start of something real!

Our group is choosing to do a series of videos to show our CAS Week experience, accompanied by a short bit of writing in the description. Here is our first video.

First couple of days jewellery making at Hatton Studios for RCHK’s CAS Week: learning the ropes! After a tour of the studio, we spent our time experimenting with the basics and designing things out of the various bits of copper and silver that were given to us. Overall, it was a fun day – with everyone having their own muse for their jewellery, we produced some pretty incredible pieces for people who have never done this before.
